Jon Routledge off to Hamilton on Loan

Wigan Athletic midfield man Jon Routledge has joined SPL side Hamilton Academicals on loan until January in a bid to get some first team action and build his experience.

The 20 year old, who made his debut for the Latics on the last day of the 2008/09 season with a substitute appearance against Portsmouth, looks set to fill in for James McArthur who made the journey in the opposite direction last month.

Accies manager Billy Reid is pleased to get Routledge and he says he is looking forward to working with him, Reid said: 'I watched Jon a couple of years ago when he was playing for the reserves at Wigan'

'He is certainly the right type and we're hoping he can play a part in central midfield.

'Jon is tenacious and gets about people and that is something I like."

That's just what i've been thinking. He's been at Hamilton for a few weeks now and should be playing against Aberdeen tomorrow. I bet he would of played a part in our game against Hartlepool on the 24th.
