What The Boss Say's - Latics v Chelsea

Ahead of the Wigan Athletic v Chelsea game at the DW Stadium this Saturday tea time Latics boss Roberto Martinez has spoken to the press about our next opponents, let`s see what he had to say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez - 'Chelsea in my eyes have the strongest squad in the league, but we're ready to react from our disappointment and be competitive in a game why showed last season we're capable of winning'

'They've been working together as a squad for a number of seasons and have had tremendous results.

'Everything you look for in a successful team; experience, strength, power and quality they possess in big amounts.

'You need to be at your very best to compete with that, but our game against them here last season shows we are capable of performing against such an opponent.

'To do that we need to be perfect in everything we do, learning lessons from last weekend's game.'

Just get the lads fired up this week Bobby, we are a week behind now, let`s not go two weeks down

Depends on which Chelsea shows up.... No offense intended to the Wigan team or supporters. However... over the years... the games have either been very close or very one sided

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
