Double Striker Swoop Set For Wigan

Double Striker Swoop Set For Wigan

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is trying to make a double striker swoop this week as he attempts to bolster his squad numbers before the transfer window slams shut

Expected to join the ranks at the DW Stadium this week are Mexico international Guillermo Franco who was released by West Ham at the end of last season and Chelsea youngster Franco Di Santo.

33 year old Franco has been linked with the Latics previously though he chose to join West Ham last season scoring 5 goals for the Hammers

21 year old Di Santo spent 2009/10 on loan at Blackburn scoring just the one goal.

We could do with a real character joining the club to get the players fired up

Di santo would fit in nicely .. he has a keen eye for goal .. unfortunate that he is so down the pecking order at Chelsea ..

I think that Hugo is the problem upfront, he is enthusiastic but cannot see a pass or link up play with anyone else. Boselli hasn't been given a sniff at goal yet.
