Former Latics Paul Scharner All Set For Baggies

Former Wigan Athletic player Paul Scharner looks set to be about to join Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion following his release from the Latics at the end of last season.

The 30 year old defender was close to joining Newcastle United but the Geordies switched their attention at the last minute to another player leaving Scharner without a club as the new season got underway.

Now it looks like he will heading to the West Midlands with Scharners agent Valentin Hoble negotiating a deal for his man with Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo
