Dave Whelan - Much Ado About Nothing

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has been making quite a few headlines this week following comments he made on BBC Radio 5Live show 'Club Sweat & Tears` with host Mark Chapman, regarding quitting the Latics.

Now Dave isn`t a man to hide himself away and he very often speaks first and thinks later but in all honesty there has been a big fuss made about absolutely nothing with sections of the media jumping up and down with crazy headlines like 'Whelan in Quit Threat` making it sound like he was about to walk away from the club.

" Whelan's not about to walk out, he was simply expressing his belief in backing his man"

Chapman was interviewing Whelan about the Latics start to the season and the conversation got round to the poor start with two home defeats in the first two games.

I don`t want to put out a transcript of what was said but would prefer people to make their own minds up by listening to Whelan being interviewed by Chapman, just press play on the youtube player below and if you want to comment do so either in the comment box below or on the forum, see if you agree with me, it`s all a fuss about nothing.

Blown up out of all proportion...as usual

It was on Sky this morning and they also used the term walk away. I'm not sure I'd keep this going in all honesty, as I don't think it's helpful. I'm passionate about our support, as anyone who knows knows this. I hope the fans leave it now and I hope some people stop having a go at the fans too for what ever reason. We need everyone to come back on board and support the team.

There is nothing in it, the press have no stories now that the transfer window as shut otherwise it would be dead in the water...if you listen to what he says it's just basically 'I am not sacking the boss'

I know Baz. I hope all Latics fans will get back on board and help give Potatoe head a bloody nose next week.
