Latics v Preston Date Confirmed

The Wigan Athletic v Preston North End Carling Cup 3rd round tie is now confirmed for Wednesday 22nd September with a 7:45 kick-off.

The game is expected to draw a decent crowd with local neighbours Preston set to bring a good following the 15 miles down the M6 and North End boss Darren Ferguson is already 'stirring it up` with comments about attendances and the like

Ferguson said: 'We will go to Wigan, we may possibly get more fans there than them because we know they don't get big crowds. It's is a beautiful arena and we will go there to give them a good game.

'Geographically it is a good tie, we will take a lot of fans there and we will go there with the chance of winning it, there is no doubt about it.'
