Paul Walsh Blogs On About Latics

Wigan Athletic and Birmingham City played out a goalless draw at St. Andrews yesterday and Sky Sports summariser, ex Liverpool, Portsmouth, Charlton and a few others, striker Paul Walsh watched the game giving his expert opinion afterwards.

Walshy seemed to be impressed with Cameron Jerome for the home side, he liked Latics counter-attack but he gave grave concerns over our back four, especially Antolin Alcaraz.

Now not one to disagree with ex-pro`s or pundits but I thought that Alcaraz was very good yesterday, still football is a game of opinions

Come on Walshy, Alcaraz was good yesterday

Sky Sports seemed to think he was good, too, but not seeing the game I couldn't judge. Two can't be wrong. Walsh has a rep anyway.

Alcaraz was far and away our best defender yesterday.... This walsh guy like most other pundits seems like a nob to me.

The only concern i have is Fig, he is good and we know he is but he has lost the defending capability he has had, he is alright going forward but he leaves too much space in his position. Alcaraz was brilliant, but credit to Boyce and Gohouri who intercepted at crucial times too. How good is Macca, he worked his socks off and won the ball many times.

Figgy was better yesterday

Was he watching the game, or was he perhaps watching the game, talking to his mates, speaking tot he director/controller as he was broadcasting etc.

Alcaraz had an ok game from what i saw. There was a chance where Jerome got through one on one with Al Habsi and it was because Alcaraz ended up in no man's land...
