Do Wigan Athletic Fans Pay Their Licence Fee?

Vital Latics member Johnney Handsome asks do Wigan Athletic supporters pay their TV licence fee? What a strange question I hear you say, well let Johnney take up the story:

I settled down in front of the TV on Saturday evening flicked the remote to display channel 101 (BBC1), my viewing intentions were Match of the Day and to catch the Latics gritty display at St. Andrews in the 0-0 draw with Birmingham, I was also looking forward to hearing the experts views and analysis on how our away form is now the best in the Premier League.

The producers of the programme decided to put the two nil-nils of the day, Fulham v Everton and Birmingham v Wigan on together, you know the format, 'over at Craven Cottage`, 'whilst at St. Andrews`, anyway not much action shown but at least I thought the Latics would now get a fair mention from the "experts".

Well what a surprise, not a word, well not a mention of Wigan, oh how they waxed lyrical about Fulham, Mark Hughes, Everton`s poor start and injury problems, David Moyes, Birmingham`s home record, Cameron Jeromes chance...

So what`s going on? Do they (the beeb) think if they ignore us long enough we`ll go away? Or is it that Wiganers simply don`t pay their licence fee, so this is the beebs way of getting back at us?

Either way maybe I better stick with Sky Sports Football First to get my second view in future, at least they know who we are.

I never watch MotD especially since the Fulham debacle on Rememberance Day last season, it leaves me too frustrated, they are a bunch of muppets

Muppets is too kind a word, but if I had a choice I wouldn't pay a licence Fee anyway. It's an insult at best, and bare faced robery at worst, when it comes to recognition of our Towns Sports achievements History. There is still a void and blot on the working community, and people of Wigan since the Mining Industry ended, like all Northern Working class towns. MOTD used to be the only programme I watched, and now I don't even use the Chanel. Their fun poking at the town and club continues. They are incapable of saying anything good Wigan in general, but yet are all to quick to put Wigan down. The word Tossers comes to mine as a more appropriate description.
