Lawro Predicts - Newcastle v Latics

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that the game between Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic at St. James` Park will end in a home win for the Geordies, let`s see what his reasons are:

Newcastle v Wigan

Well, these two teams are fairly similar to each other - you're not sure what you're going to get from one week to the next.

Newcastle will be without midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa for a while now - he provided them with something a little bit different. And striker Andy Carroll blows hot and cold - as most youngsters do.

Wigan have the capacity to collapse or be really good.

Prediction: 2-1

Lawro usually takes the easy option and plumps for the home team, I think it`s what his mate Hanson calls playing the percentages. I think we are good for a draw at least, our away form has been very good so far this season, so I`m going for a 1-1 draw.

I'm going for the draw this week, 1-1

I've been let down by getting optomistic before half time, so I'll be happy with a point. 3 would be brilliant. Keeping our away clean sheet record would be nice as well.

i cant see anything else only a wigan win.i would be very dissapointed if newcastle win,as wigan seem to play better away from the dw.
