Liverpool Eye Up Charles N'Zogbia

Wigan Athletic player Charles N`Zogbia is attracting attention from Liverpool according to the Metro who claim that Reds boss Roy Hodgson is set to be handed significant funds by the clubs new owners.

N`Zogbia has started this season like he finished the last one, in blistering form, two goals on Saturday up at Newcastle underlining his worth to the Latics but if the Metro is to believed then a 12 million bid is heading down the East Lancashire Road come the January transfer window and that will test the Latics resolve to hang on to their star man.

The France international almost moved to pastures new during the summer, Birmingham having a 9 million bid accepted but N`Zogbia decided to stay put for the time being in hope of a bigger club coming in for him, Liverpool could be that club.

Speaking following the 2-2 draw up at St. James` Park Latics boss Roberto Martinez acknowledges that N`Zogbia`s stock will rise but hopes he will stay at the DW Stadium. Martinez said: 'Charles' value will go up because he is only 24 and playing for the national team'

'But he's someone we don't want to lose.

'Last season Charles took his ability to another level, and this season he has carried on. He's improved a lot.'
