Latics Reserves 2-0 Man City Reserves

Wigan Athletic reserves beat their Manchester City counterparts 2-0 at Robin Park Arena tonight with goals from Mauro Boselli and Callum McManaman to continue an impressive start to the season for Graham Barrow`s charges.

Boselli headed home on 8 minutes to put the Latics in the lead, the Argentine marksman stole in at the far post to convert a Redmond cross.

The goal sparked City into life and they had the better of the play for the next 30 minutes or so creating a few chances and having a goal disallowed, but with Gary Caldwell playing at the back the Latics held firm.

The second half saw the Latics kill the game off and secure the points, on 52 minutes Callum McManaman crashed a shot into the net to make the score 2-0 and send Manchester City`s young hopefuls home empty handed.

Latics: Nicholls, Buxton, G. Caldwell, Golbart, Redmond, de Ridder, Watson, Moses, McArthur, McManaman, Boselli.
Subs: Williams, Holt, Breeze, Morris, Girvan

Manchester City: Gonzales, Logan, Cunningham, Ibrahim, Wabara, Mee, Elabdellaoui, Kay, Guidetti, Benali, Chantler.
Subs: Veseli, Johansen, Helan, Bunn.

Wigan 1-2 Bradford Match Report

Latics dropped to a deserved 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bradford, our first loss at home in the league since March. It was an off-day, defence looked shaky from the off and once Nick Powell went off injured, we never really threatened to score. We are back at the DW on Tuesday against Doncaster Rovers, an opportunity to get back on track.

Paul Cook named an unchanged side from our last league game, with Michael Jacobs returning to the starting line-up.
