Charles N'Zogbia - Latics Man of the Match

Charles N'Zogbia - Latics Man of the Match

Charles N`Zogbia has been voted the Wigan Athletic man of the match for his performance up at St. James` Park in last weekends 2-2 draw against Newcastle United that saw Charlie net twice for the Latics.

The France international put in an excellent performance against his old club powering home a header and then thumping a rasping left footed strike into the top corner to give the Latics a 2-0 lead with just 24 minutes on the clock.

Unfortunately Newcastle pulled the game back wiping some of the smile of Charlie`s face but he still gave a great display and showed the Geordies how good he can be when played in his true position of attacking midfield.

For the record the voting was:

Man of the Match v Newcastle

Charles N`Zogbia - 35%
Franco Di Santo - 18%
Ali Al-Habsi - 17%

Latics v Wolves - Big Game Preview

There is a little bit of pressure starting to mount down at the Latics, no win in seven games and sitting bottom of the pile, the sooner we can get a three points haul in the bag the better.

Gary Caldwell felt that his team were unlucky not to win the game at Preston on Friday never mind lose it, a wickedly deflected effort early on followed by some resolute defending kept the Latics at bay, but a failure to take two excellent chances was the downfall as we lost by the odd goal for the 7t
