Lawro Predicts - Latics v Bolton

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that Saturday`s local derby between Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers at the DW Stadium will end in a home win for the Latics, let`s see what his reasons are:

Wigan v Bolton

Not so long ago, this would have been your stereotypical 'earthy' Lancashire derby but both of these teams try to play a lot more football these days.

Under Owen Coyle, Bolton's change in approach has been more noticeable but he has done it slowly but surely, and very effectively.

This should be a close game. Wigan should have seen things out comfortably against Newcastle after leading 2-0 but had to settle for a point and you never quite know what to expect from them.

Prediction: 2-1

Not often I find myself agreeing with the Preston born former Republic of Ireland international but this week I do, home win for the Latics, I`m going for 2-0 though

I can see us getting the three points this weekend

I'm not so sure, but then I'm very wary of setting myself up for diasappointment. I think the reasonable expectation is somewhere between a win and a draw.
