Latics Want £2 Million Al-Habsi Switch

According to the Daily Mirror Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is set to try and make the loan signing of Bolton keeper Ali Al-Habsi a permanent one when the next transfer window opens in January.

The paper claims that there is a fee clause agreed in the loan deal of £2 million and the Latics boss wants to act fast with other Premier League clubs believed to be impressed by the Oman international.

Bolton though are reported not keen to sell at the moment and would prefer to wait until the end of the season to sort out the 28 year olds future, they are on a winner with Al-Habsi playing in the shop window so to speak and have his loan fee in the bank. Good performances for the Latics can only increase his value should he go on the open market.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has spoken about Al-Habsi saying "I`ll decide what happens on Al-Habsi, in conjunction with the chairman and the owner." And of course the player himself may want to keep his options open, though he does look to be happy at the DW Stadium.

Either way he is here for the season at least.
