Lawro Predicts - Rovers v Latics

Former Liverpool defender and current Match of the Day pundit Mark 'Lawro` Lawrenson has done his weekly round of predictions for the BBC and he is predicting that Saturday`s Premier League game between Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic at Ewood Park will end in a home win for Blackburn, let`s see what his reasons are:

Blackburn v Wigan

Blackburn have had two defeats in their last four at home and I think Sam Allardyce has alluded to the fact that they have got to start improving on a home record that was one of the best in the country last season.

I thought they played really well against Chelsea, and big Sam will be saying 'let's get in their faces'.

I have got no clue what Wigan will be doing from one minute to the next never mind one game to the next - they are consistently inconsistent and will flirt with relegation.

It seems to me quite a few of their players are there because they think they will get sold on, but I expect this will be a nice old-fashioned Lancashire derby - hopefully with a few strong tackles.

Prediction: 2-0

Easy option going for the home side Lawro, I think this will be a 1-1 draw

We never play well at Blackburn, their physical style will upset our 'flowing' football. 2 -1 to Blackburn (sadly)!

You would think by now we would know exactly how to play against rovers and that we could finally get a win at their place. I think it might of actually happened this time but with them on a bad run of home results they will be working their socks off more than ever to make sure they get the home result. I think Al Habsi will be more effective against them than our previous goal keepers and at best that will help us grind out a draw. 1-1
