Wigan Athletic Player of the Month - Jordi Gomez

Jordi Gomez has been voted the Wigan Athletic player of the month for October by pollsters on Vital Latics.

The attacking midfield man has enjoyed an extended run in the side and scored a stunning free kick at the DW Stadium against Wolves to make it three goals for the season so far.

The former Espanyol man was rested last weekend at Fulham but brought on at half time with the Latics two goals down, he was the only Latics player who strung more than two passes together all game and all though we didn`t pull any goals back we did look much more of an attacking threat with Gomez on the pitch.

So well done Jordi and long may your good form continue, for the record the voting was:

Jordi Gomez - 40%
Ali Al-Habsi - 20%
Hendry Thomas - 11%

The new poll is available for you to vote in, to participate simply access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, it`s that easy.

Well done Jordi! Would be nice if he reads this. Until recently he always struggled to get the fans behind him. Hope it boosts his game no end!

i cant believe this vote it must have been people who dont go to games .he has been a bit better but a good freekick doesnt make you the best player.
