Wigan Athletic - Callejon Link Back On

Wigan Athletic are once again being linked with a move for Espanyol forward Jose Callejon and with Everton also sniffing around the 23 year old, Roberto Martinez may need to act fast if he wants to secure the signing of the striker he let slip by last January.

Callejon was close to joining the Latics last year but a fee couldn`t be agreed with Espanyol, who were thought to be looking for £4.5 million, but the La Liga club are believed to be experiencing financial uncertainties and a compromise just may be found.

That compromise could well include defender Victor Ruiz who, at 21 has attracted a lot of interest, Italian club Napoli have tracked his progress and tabled a bid last week, it is also reported that Manchester City have been watching the youngster and are ready to confirm their interest with a bid.

The young centre back has made 29 appearances for Espanyol since making his debut in 2009.
