Injured Kirkland Back Home

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland returned to the Latics just two days after leaving to go on a month`s loan to Leicester City due to the fact that he picked up an injury during a training session with the Foxes.

Surely the most unluckiest goalkeeper in the Premier League with the amount of injuries that he has endured during his career, Kirkland, who has been injury free this season, lost his place in the Latics starting line-up to Ali Al-Habsi and decided to go on loan to home town club Leicester a couple of weeks ago to keep his sharpness up.

Initially the move was delayed due to big Chris having a virus but last week he was buzzing with the prospect of lining up for Sven Goran Eriksson`s Foxes but then suffered the set back as he was training with his new team mates.

Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson said: 'He has some back problems and he went back to Wigan on Sunday and had a scan late on Monday afternoon, so we will only know in the morning the extent.

'I hope it is not serious but we have to wait and see what kind of injury it is.'
