Tom Cleverley Pleased To Get on Score Sheet

Wigan Athletic midfield man Tom Cleverley spoke about getting on the score sheet in Saturdays 2-2 draw with Stoke City and says that it doesn`t half boost your confidence when you rattle one in.

The youngster was speaking to Latics Player after the game and you could see in his face that he was delighted with his goal and the fact that the Latics got a point from a tough game.

Cleverley thought the game was quite open and more goals could have been scored if it hadn`t been for fine performances by both keepers who pulled off some excellent saves, but in the end he thought a draw was the fair result.

Speaking to Latics Player Cleverley said: "We`ve been playing quite well at home but it was a tough game and I think that a draw was probably a fair result"

"It`s always a boost to your confidence when you get on the score sheet and I feel like I am expressing myself now.

"I'm growing in confidence and as a creative midfielder you`ve got to score goals or set them up and that`s what I am trying my best to do"

"The game was pretty open and there were more chances in the second half and it could have been 3-3 or 4-3 but credit to the goal keepers for some fantastic saves"

He's really settled in well, be great if we could keep him until the end of the season
