Chris Kirkland Is Fit To Go

Chris Kirkland has declared himself fit to continue with his proposed loan move to Championship club Leicester City following an injury that he sustained in training prior to the Leicester v Forest game last week.

The Latics goalkeeper is eager to get himself involved in some first team football and he saw the loan move as a perfect way to keep himself sharp, he feared that it would be cancelled at one point last week but now he hopes it`s full systems ahead

Kirkland is expecting to go back to Leicester this week after undergoing treatment in Wigan, speaking to the Evening Post Kirkland said: "A lot`s been made of it again, but it`s fine now.

"I think the loan was going to be cancelled at one point last week, because it looked as though I`d be out for a couple of weeks.

"But thank goodness that`s no longer the case, and hopefully I can get down there later this week, prove my fitness to everyone and get out there on the pitch.

"I`ve spoken to the coaches at Leicester and they`re monitoring the situation.

"But I`m still a Leicester City player on loan, and hopefully I can rejoin the squad and push for a start this weekend."
