Victor Moses On The Road to Recovery

Victor Moses On The Road to Recovery

Wigan Athletic striker Victor Moses is now on the road to recovery following an operation on the shoulder that he dislocated in last weeks Carling Cup tie at Arsenal.

The 19 year old says that although his shoulder is sore he just wants to get back as quickly as possible, his season so far has been stop start due to niggling injuries picked in the opening game and this is making him frustrated.

Moses says he is hoping that he can return a lot sooner than the three months forecast and with hard work he hopes to be back to full fitness ahead of schedule.

Speaking to the Wigan Observer Moses said: "Obviously the shoulder is sore, but I`ve had the operation now and I just want to get back playing as quickly as possible.

"People are saying three months but I don`t think I`ll be out that long if I work hard - at least I hope not.

"This season`s been such a frustrating season for me - right from the start - with injuries and stuff.

"But that`s football, and things like this are going to happen.

"I just want to play football and I could have done without another injury coming along.

"All I`m thinking about is getting back to full fitness and getting back out on the pitch."

Latics boss Roberto Martinez reckons that Moses has a fighting chance of returning sooner, rather than later, he says that the operation went well, the surgeon was pleased and because Moses is a young lad he will heal quickly, hopefully.

Martinez said: "The operation went really, really well"

"The surgeon was very pleased with everything, and from today we can start to count down the days to getting Victor back on the field.

"It will be anything up to three months, but Victor is a quick healer so we are very hopeful he could be back much sooner.

"With any operation, there is always a fear that there will be a complication or they will find something you didn`t expect.

"But it`s been completely the opposite, and we are all hoping he`ll be back before that three-month estimate."

I feel for him. I hope he has someone to look after him, after all he has no parents. Poor kid.
