Can We Afford To Let Charles N'Zogbia Go?

Can We Afford To Let Charles N'Zogbia Go?

With the new transfer window fast approaching there is much speculation about prospective comings and goings at the DW Stadium in the next few weeks, Vital Latics member The_Belfast_Latic is curious as to what we think may happen to a certain Monsieur N`Zogbia

Will he stay, will he leave, can we cope without him, what`s he worth, all very appropriate questions, so let see what The_Belfast_Latic thinks about it all:

Charles N'Zogbia has arguably been our best player this season and has consistently given all he has in every game. But he has also, if we are to believe what we read in the press, emphasized his desire to leave the club, and stressed that Wigan is merely a stepping stone for him.

So my question's are:

Should we sell him?

How much is he worth and in contrast how much will he go for?

Would the club be better if he were to leave?

In my opinion he is good enough for any team in this league, he is an exceptional and determined player, but he has the worst attitude I have ever seen at Wigan.

He is worth his weight in gold in my eyes because in every game he is guaranteed to cause the opposition threats, and he is a match winner. But is the club better for keeping him? Does his attitude affect his team mates and their game? Would we get points if he wasn't there spear-heading our attacks? Who knows...

' We nearly sold him for £9 million (which was a joke) considering he either scores or sets up most of our goals. Staying in the Prem is worth upwards of £40 million any offer we accept needs to reflect the Premiership money we will almost certainly lose if he goes'

HAVE YOUR SAY

Thanks for that Belfast Latic. My humble opinion, for what it`s worth, if, as reported Charlie is looking to leave, I would hope that we can come to an arrangement similar to the one we reached with Manchester United over Antonio Valencia, transfer to wherever signed, sealed but not delivered until the season is over.

This way Charlie is allowed his much spoken about move to a big club, but we get to keep him for the remainder of the season, because we need him.

Today`s report that Blackburn are preparing a bid of £7 million for N`Zogbia is both laughable and insulting, Charlie is head and shoulders our most creative player and he would walk into the starting line up of any Premier League side and I would like to think he is worth £10 million+

At 24 he still has his best years ahead of him, he has pace, skill, an eye for goal and he can play effectively both on the left and right, he is a real gem and he is under contract with us, so any deal that get`s concluded must be the right one for the club primarily.

in my opinion he must be worth at least 15 million and unless wigan was getting somewhere near that amount he shouldnt be allowed to leave.can wigan afford to let him go?the answer is no.he is by far the best player at the club and wigan will not be able to replace him.they will just have to get another to step up to the plate.

Now with cleverley down too, without Charles, where would we create our chances? Every week it seems more and more essential we keep him until we stabilse as a club

Latics v Brentford - Big Game Preview

Latics go into the game against Brentford hoping to build on the win away at Burton last Saturday, another three points this afternoon could see us lifted out of the bottom three come 5pm, what a change around that would be from the despair that we were all feeling as we came in to the new year.

The truth of the matter is that the team is too good to be stuck where it is in the league, we have enough quality in the ranks to be higher up the table, hopefully the last two games have shown t
