Good News on Franco Di Santo Injury

Wigan Athletic have received some good news on the injury front with Franco Di Santo`s ankle injury not being as bad as first feared.

The Argentinean was sent to London last week to visit a top specialist to investigate the problem, at the time the Latics backroom staff thought there could be ligament damage, but it isn`t the case and he could be back in action in a week or so.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post Latics boss Roberto Martinez said that it is important to get this good news as Franco is a big player for the team, Martinez said: "We`ve had some great news, in that the ligament isn`t damaged"

"Well keep an eye on him over the next week or so, but we`re hoping he is fine - which would be a massive relief.

"When you look at the players we have been without in recent weeks, and the ones we`ll be without next week as well, we need big players like Franco available for selection.

"Hopefully he`ll react well to treatment. If so, we`re looking at two weeks maximum, probably nearer seven days."
