Martinez Says, Xavi Is The Worlds Best

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez says that Barcelona midfield man and Spain international, Xavi is the best in the world.

The talented midfielder was yesterday crowned World Footballer of the Year, a decision that Martinez says is fully deserved, speaking to Latics Player Martinez said: "A well worthy winner"

"In the last four or five years I don`t think he`s been getting the credit that his football deserved"

"He is someone that is not tall enough or strong enough to play in certain positions and what he`s done is mastered what he`s good at."

"Technically he`s the best player in world football and as a midfielder he is a clear example of how to control games, how to read games and how to impose yourself, from a football point of view rather than a physical point of view"

"To have that reward and recognition is well deserved because what he has done with Spain is what he has done since he arrived in the first team at Barcelona"

Xavi, the best player in the world, by a mile
