Wigan Athletic - Routledge Hopes for Accies Stay

Wigan Athletic youngster Jonathan Routledge is hopeful of extending his loan stay at SPL side Hamilton Academicals beyond January and he says he would love to stay at Douglas Park until the end of the season.

Routledge made the temporary move north of the border back in August and so far he`s made 11 appearances for the Accies, scoring once, but his time at Hamilton has been interrupted by injury and the 21 year old midfielder has only just returned to action following a month on the sidelines.

Although well thought of at the Latics, Routledge unquestionably stands a better chance of seeing first team action in Scotland and he says he hopes that his stay will be extended at the Accies for the duration of the current campaign.

Speaking to Sky Sports Routledge said: 'I hope that the two managers can come to an agreement so that I can see out the season with Hamilton'

'I am really enjoying my football and the set-up. The lads are quality and I just really want to help the team get away from the bottom of the table.'

Better seeing some first team action, should stay for the duration

exactly same scenario as cleverley in my eyes. Better for all clubs and the players themselves to stay put for rest of year. would just get frustrated on benches
