Martinez Heaps Praise on Magnificent Support

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has spoken about Latics `magnificent` support at Molineux yesterday, saying that it gave the players the lift they needed to secure the victory.

With a bunch of fans dressed as huge bananas in florescent yellow fruit suits it was hardly surprising that the players spotted the travelling supporters, Martinez though was very complimentary and doesn`t underestimate the effect positive support can have on the teams performance.

Speaking to the clubs official website Martinez said: 'We've seen time and again this season how magnificent the supporters have been both home and away'

'Boxing Day is a big date in our calendar and when the players walked out for their warm-up at the start of the day and saw the fans it gave us all a big lift and a warm feeling.

'I'm pleased we were able to give them a performance to be proud of and something I'm sure set-up a good night ahead.'
