Vote For Your Latics Man of the Match v Wolves

Wigan Athletic beat Wolves yesterday and although it was a great team effort there were some standout performances.

Hugo Rodallega was a real handful from the off, his movement was very good, he grabbed a super poachers goal and his sublime pass set up Tom Cleverley to put the Latics 2-0 in front.

Cleverley also had a good game, up and down the pitch and he took his goal really well, N`Zogbia was good on the ball and he also covered a lot of ground tracking back, James McArthur on his first Premier League start put in a great shift, he got stuck in and formed a good partnership with Diame and Watson, both of whom were also strong.

Al-Habsi made some solid saves and one, from an Edwards free kick which took a wicked deflection, was superb with the Oman international improvising by using his leg to clear the ball, Steve Gohouri did well at left back, but for me the man of the match was Gary Caldwell.

Considering it was the skippers first game since the middle of November and also the amount of game time that he has actually had since the summer Caldwell was simply magnificent.

He marshalled the defence, put his body on the line when it mattered and also when necessary he knew to wellie the ball up field and out of danger, I thought it was a top, top performance by Gary Caldwell and he was my man of the match, but who was yours?

given his first start in the league and the added pessure it impossed, i would give it to McArthur. Just hope he starts against arsenal. Dont think any of the midfield deserves to lose thier place for hendry to comein, but interesting to see who does get the cut.
