Adrian Lopez 'Piscu' Set For Latics Debut

Adrian Lopez 'Piscu' Set For Latics Debut

Wigan Athletic newest recruit, Spanish centre back Adrian Lopez 'Piscu`, could be set for his Latics debut in tomorrow`s Premier League clash with Newcastle United at the DW Stadium.

Antolin Alcaraz picked up a thigh strain in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday and he is rated at 50/50 for tomorrow meaning that Lopez is on standby to make his debut.

The big Spaniard has been training with the Latics since the summer, he is no stranger to the rest of the squad having been around them for the best part of the last five months whilst the Latics have been waiting for his international clearance to come through.

If Alcaraz is forced to sit out the Newcastle game through injury, then expect Lopez to make his bow in front of the Latics fans.

I like the fact that he's been with them for months...so should know each of our players and thereore hopefully no silly mixups where one thinks one thing and someoneelse thinks another
