Federico Macheda Linked With Latics Loan Move

Manchester United young striker Federico Macheda is being linked with a loan move to Wigan Athletic for the rest of the season, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has agreed to allow the 19 year old to 'go and gain some experience`.

The Latics, of course, have their maximum quota of loan players with Ali Al-Habsi from Bolton and Tom Cleverley from Old Trafford, but there is talk that Cleverley could be recalled to United to provide cover due to players leaving to participate in the Asian Cup.

Cleverley has been told that he is at the Latics for at least the next three games, but seeing as that only takes us until next Saturday it isn`t a long time.

It is understood that Aston Villa have already made enquiries about Macheda, but it is also believed that Ferguson is very impressed with the Latics coaching methods and style of play, he is delighted with the progress that Tom Cleverley has made under the stewardship of Roberto Martinez and his staff.

Speaking to the press about Macheda, Ferguson said: "If any club comes along and convinces the player and me that he`ll get games, they will be the ones we will be thinking about."

I think you could safely say he`d get a run in our first eleven.

If we were to lose Cleverley this just might soften the blow, but I'd sooner we kept Cleverley tbh
