Franco Di Santo Raring To Go

Wigan Athletic striker Franco Di Santo has spoken about his frustrations over the past few weeks that has seen the Argentine sidelined with an ankle injury, but he say`s now that he`s returned to action he is looking forward to helping the team start getting some good results.

Di Santo was injured back in October in the away draw with Newcastle, but at first the injury wasn`t considered to be too serious, he tried to carry on playing in the following weeks, but it was obvious that there was a problem and in the defeat to West Ham on the 27th November the 21 year old had to be replaced just after the hour

That was the last time we saw Di Santo until he appeared as a late substitute in Saturdays draw with Fulham. The former Chelsea man is now raring to go and get his Latics career firmly back on track.

Speaking to the clubs official web site Di Santo says: 'I feel a lot better now and as though I can help the team and contribute a lot more, it's a great feeling"

'It felt good getting on against Fulham and now I can get back into the rhythm of planning towards the next game against Arsenal this weekend.

'For a player all you want to do is play and be on the pitch and when you pick up an injury it's a very frustrating time but now that I'm fit again I'm looking forward to helping the team get a result in the next game.

'At the time of picking up the injury it didn't seem too serious but when we looked at it further it turned out to be worse than first thought and ruled me out for well over a month.

'It's the first time in my career that I've suffered any kind of lengthy injury, but it's given me good experience and now my ambition is to remain fit and of course start getting on the score-sheet.'
