Sunderland Sniffing Around N'Zogbia Again?

No incomings at Wigan Athletic so far this transfer window, in fact Mauro Boselli moving to Genoa on loan is the only activity either way, but there is speculation surrounding prize asset Charles N`Zogbia.

It has been muted that Liverpool have approached the Latics over the possibility of taking the 24 year old winger on loan, apparently this was given the rebuff that it deserved.

The latest rumour is that Sunderland, flush with their Bent cash, that`s Darren Bent and his transfer fee after moving from the Stadium of Light to Villa, are set to make an offer for little Charlie.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Latics owner Dave Whelan says that the club won`t stand in N`Zogbia`s way if a top six side come in with a big bid, just so happens Sunderland are currently sixth. His he preparing us?

Charlie is good enough for a Champions League side, he has pace, a great touch and a great amount of quality in that left foot, his value has to be over £12 million and in the inflated January market it should be even higher, unless someone came in with a £15 million offer they should be told to go away.

Let`s hope that Whelan agrees, this is what he said to the MEN: 'I've always said to Charles if a top-six club comes in for him, he can speak with them,'

'We'll never stand in a player's way. We don't want to sell him, we've no plans to sell him and we haven't received any offers at this stage.

'There's no chance of him going anywhere on loan and if he is to go, it has got to be for the right money. He's an outstanding player, he has wonderful pace.'

I think he's going, if he wasn't we would be saying 'not for sale at any price, he's too important to us'. We are pretty much inviting bids rather than attempting to scare them off. Only thing would be if Zog didn't want to go Sunderland like he did with Brum and he decides to stay with us till the end of the season in the hope he will attract a better move with only 1 year left on his deal
