Latics Linked With Leroy Lita Move

Wigan Athletic are rumoured to be checking out Middlesbrough striker Leroy Lita according to Sky Sports who claim that the Latics have contacted the Teesiders about the availability of their star forward.

Lita has been in good form recently with 5 goals in his last 8 games, he does of course have Premier League experience with Reading, where he scored 14 goals in 38 appearances in 2006/07, when the Berkshire club enjoyed a good first season in the top flight.

At 26 the diminutive striker, he`s just 5` 7, is entering the prime of his career, it is believed that Boro would deal if a fee of around 2 million was offered, their parachute payments from the Premier League come to an end at the end of the current campaign and it looks like Middlesbrough are sorting out their finances with this in mind.

Not sure, he had loads of potential then seemed to go off the rails a little and we all know scoring in the Championship is one thing, but he does have bags of pace and has scored goals where ever he's been

I think we are all agreed that we need to bring someone in that can find the back of the net. Lita has some premiership experience so it maybe worth a shout at 2M

Leroy Lita just about sums up what is wrong at Latics. He will be another Jason Scotland and reflects the ambition of the manager. He needs to sign Al Habsi on a permenant deal then try to get a loan striker from a top club with the potential of Tom Cleverley. Arsenal, Man U and City have a load of talented youngsters. If he manages to get one then perhaps someone like Jason Roberts or Ricardo Fuller would give Rodellega the kick up the rear end that he needs.

Decent player, but he's never going to be able to play the lone striker role. Put him up there to feed off Di Santo in a 4-4-2 and he'd probably do well. Sadly, this will never happen with our manager who thinks that 1 striker can do it all on his own. Lowest scorers in the premier league? Take the hint Martinez...
