Dave Whelan Proud of Latics Youngsters

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has spoken about his pride in the performance of the youngsters who represented the Latics in yesterdays derby draw with Bolton.

Martinez made eight changes from the previous game, to not only rest some players, but also to give others some game time and the ones brought in certainly didn`t let the gaffer or the club down.

Speaking to the clubs official website Dave Whelan said:'I thought that we played really well'

'We had a very young team out, there were only two of those boys over the age of 25, four of them under 20, and I thought they played exceptionally well and fought to the death, a really good performance and I'm proud of them.'
