Gary Caldwell All Masked Up

Wigan Athletic skipper Gary Caldwell has admitted that he doesn`t like being the man in the mask and can`t wait to get the all clear to play without the protective face guard.

Caldwell sustained a depressed fracture of his cheekbone in the draw at West Brom at the beginning of February, he missed the following game against Blackburn through the injury, but he was back for the away draw at Liverpool with his mask in place, he wore it again for the cup replay with Bolton and it looks like he`ll be wearing it for a little while longer.

The Scotland international says that he doesn`t like wearing the mask but admits that if he can keep playing, he will keep on wearing it, Caldwell said: "It something the doctor says I`ve got to wear because of the injury, but hopefully I can get rid of it as soon as possible!

"It does affect my peripheral vision slightly but, if it keeps me on the park, I`ll wear it."
