Voting for player of the month for February is now underway; if you are unsure who has performed well here is a little reminder of the games over the past four weeks.
February was a mixed bag for the Latics, the month got underway with a 2-2 draw at West Brom with goals from Charles N`Zogbia and Ben Watson, Gary Caldwell fractured his cheekbone but played on and James McCarthy got 60 minutes under his belt.
Next up it was Blackburn at home and a very good performance from the lads saw the Latics gain their first three points since the Boxing Day win at Wolves. James McCarthy scored two goals and was magnificent throughout in the 4-3 win, Hugo and Ben Watson were also on the score sheet
Liverpool away and a 1-1 draw with a good effort from Steve Gohouri stealing in at the far post was the next game for the Latics, once again McCarthy was good in midfield, whilst Charles N`Zogbia was a constant threat.
The 1-0 home defeat to Bolton in the FA cup is probably better not dwelt upon, a poor display and we`ll leave it there.
The final game of the month saw Manchester United come to the DW Stadium, a game of much controversy but once again James McCarthy was at the centre of most of what the Latics did well.
I think it`s pretty obvious who I think was our February player of the month, just in case you`re unsure, James McCarthy, but who was your choice?
