Wigan face the unenviable task of heading to Eastlands to face Manchester City - Worryingly, Roberto Martinez has gained just one solitary point off Manchester clubs since his appointment in 2009. Last time Wigan went to Eastlands, they were beaten 3-0.
However, the news of the week was concerned over Kolo Toure and his failed drugs test as well as Wayne Rooney's elbow onto James McCarthy, something Mark Clattenburg deemed fair. Nevertheless, Rooney was cleared and allowed to play in the subsequent match afterward, which they duly lost 2-1 to Chelsea.
It gets better for Wigan Athletic because David Silva is back and he's sure to give Wigan Athletic a massive run for their money today. However its not all doom and gloom for Wigan.
Wigan have actually got the sixth best away defence in the league which is hard to believe but they've picked up some creditable results, especially away to Liverpool, which was a moment to savour and also away to Tottenham, which was a really grand result.
Now Wigan need to replicate that form today at Eastlands - if we score first, we've got a great chance of taking something from a tricky fixture, but my mind says we're going to be walking away with nothing and we've got a do or die home game coming up against Birmingham City.
Many have said we can't lose this game - I disagree. This is a fixture I didn't believe we'd profit from. However, Birmingham is a MUST WIN game for the Latics and I believe that this will be the game we need to focus mindset on. Anything we could pick up at Eastlands would be a bonus.
I do think Wigan can cause Manchester City problems, especially with the power and pace of wingers Charles N'Zogbia and young teenage prodigy Victor Moses, who almost came close to being a Wigan legend with a goal against Manchester United last weekend. Maybe one day, Victor, we'll get something over the Red Devils.
As for the game, its going to be a very comfortable afternoon for Mancini's men, I feel. They've had their blip against Mark Hughes' Fulham and now, Wigan need to perform creditably and then move their minds onto next week's massive game over Birmingham City.
No respite for Wigan Athletic then. I think with David Silva back and the engine room that is Manchester City and their millions, this could be a big afternoon for them and a dour one for Wigan. I really want to say we're going to get something worthwhile at Eastlands. It won't happen in my view.
Manchester City 4-0 Wigan Athletic
ROB'S OTHER PREDICTIONS
Birmingham City Vs West Brom - This is a very big game for both clubs - they are in real relegation danger. I'm just wondering if West Brom might just pull a point here, but wouldn't be surprised to see them nick the win. Its tough to predict, but I'm actually going to say away win.
Birmingham City 0-1 West Brom
Arsenal Vs Sunderland - Sunderland are not the team they once were under Steve Bruce this season and I think they're going to get beaten at the Emirates, but it won't be a thrashing.
Arsenal 2-0 Sunderland
Bolton Vs Aston Villa - Bolton are another enigma - they've done very well this year and like Sunderland, have gone flat of late. However, Villa were beaten at Eastlands 3-0 and I think that they are a good side and are in a false position. I just think they'll nick it.
Bolton 0-1 Aston Villa
Fulham Vs Blackburn - More away day blues await Steve Kean. Fulham are a very good side under Mark Hughes and I see them taking a win off Blackburn.
Fulham 2-0 Blackburn
Newcastle Vs Everton - Its all about the enigma's of football today - Everton are another of them. However, they go to Newcastle and Newcastle are a fine side so I think they're in for a rough ride today. However, I can see the Merseysiders leaving with a battling draw.
Newcastle 2-2 Everton
West Ham Vs Stoke City - The euphoria of beating Liverpool will have done wonders for West Ham - however Stoke are more resilient and I think they'll have to settle themselves for another high scoring draw.
West Ham 2-2 Stoke City
Liverpool Vs Man Utd - King Kenny vs Sir Alex Ferguson - what a tasty duel. It looks like the Man Utd bandwagon might be faltering. I think that Liverpool will beat Manchester United in this crucial game and give real hope to the other title contenders.
Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd
Wolves Vs Tottenham - Wolves are a tricky side and Tottenham blow hot and cold. There won't be much in this but I think that Tottenham will secure a very hard fought victory over Wolves.
Wolves 0-1 Tottenham
Blackpool Vs Chelsea - Well, Blackpool's good form is starting to go well and truly out of the window now. Chelsea are a very strong unit and they need to win this game in order to keep pace with Utd. Expect a vintage Chelsea win here. Sorry Blackpool, but I think it'll be a drubbing.
Blackpool 0-5 Chelsea
Everton Vs Birmingham - Everton are the enigma, aren't they. They're not playing to their full potential - however they have enough to beat Alex McLeish's side in this very intriguing encounter. A low scoring affair and a home win for Everton.
Everton 1-0 Birmingham
ROB'S FINAL WORD
Keep the faith! Its not over yet and even if we did go down, it wouldn't be the end of ends. We've got a fair way to go yet. So here's hoping to a win at Eastlands and also for Huddersfield to win today. That'll do me nicely! Have a great weekend and see you next time for Wigan's crunch home clash against Birmingham City.
