Whelan Believes Latics Will Avoid Relegation

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan says that he is confident that team boss Roberto Martinez will get the Latics out of the bottom three and avoid relegation.

Speaking to the Wigan Observer, Whelan says that there are some winnable matches coming up and the team need to go out and make sure they win them.

Whelan said: "I have complete and total faith in Roberto - and the stability of the club remains total.

"I have complete confidence that he will turn it round.

"I couldn`t criticise Roberto at all for the way we`re playing or the application of the lads just now."

"We`ve got some very, very winnable matches coming up and we have to go out there and make sure we win them.

"I still think we can do it."

sorry to say it, because I like the way you play your football, but I think you are doomed to relegation this season.

Whilst there's a way there's hope and there's a long way to go yet, so there's plenty hope, I hope you see what I mean, one way or another we still have hope...I know I'm waffling
