Kirkland Signs On Loan

Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has signed a 6-month loan deal with Wigan Athletic with an option of a permanent transfer at the end of the deal.

Kirkland has been training with the Latics squad and goalkeeping coach Gary Walsh this morning according to reports on Sky Sports News.

Kirkland spent last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion where he had seemed to shake off his injury problems before breaking his thumb just before the end of the season.

The curse of the VitalFootball banner seems to have struck again with John Filan now being linked with a move to Nottingham Forest. He had a short loan spell with Forest earlier in his career without making a first team appearance.

When I do the banner for next season I'm not putting any players on at all!

Quick! Get Jewell off the banner now! If he goes, I'll hold you personally responsible.
