Martinez Asks Fantastic Supporters To Lift Latics

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is asking the fans to get behind the team on Saturday when they face relegation rivals Birmingham City at the DW Stadium.

Speaking to the Latics official website Martinez says that this weekends game is an exciting challenge and he wants the fans to get down to the ground and cheer the lads on to what will hopefully be a great victory and three steps on the road to survival

Martinez said: 'This weekend's match is a massive but exciting challenge for the whole club and we need our fantastic supporters to play a big role as usual.

'They have been magnificent all season and the atmosphere in the DW for the last few games has been excellent. We need to make it a really intimidating one again on Saturday and I would really urge people to come and support us for this one.'
