Martinez - 'It's time to fight until the end'

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is urging Latics fans to get down to the DW Stadium on Saturday and get behind the team when they face Birmingham City in a crucial bottom of the table tussle.

In an email sent to supporters on the clubs data base Martinez says that it`s a time for the players to roll up their sleeves and put in that extra bit of effort, and all though he recognises it will be tough against Birmingham, Martinez says that there is no room for disappointment and the players must fight until the end.

The email reads:

"I don`t need to remind you how crucial this match is as we aim to secure a seventh season in the top-flight for our Wigan Athletic - and we are relying on your voice and support to take us through these next vital games.

Home and away the atmosphere you have created this season has been magnificent and it makes a big difference to the players when they hear your voice urging them on.

The players are in a fantastic moment. We will all agree that the results have not reflected the quality of our play at times this season, but this is not time to feel sorry for ourselves. It`s time to roll up our sleeves and put in extra effort. We have a fully fit squad, with real competition for places and the boys are desperate to get out there and get the rewards for all the hard work they have been putting in on the training ground and in matches.

It`s going to be a tough game against Birmingham, we know that, but we need to rise to the challenge and enjoy it. In every game left this season, we cannot accept disappointment during any 90 minutes and fight with style until the end in a typical Wigan Athletic manner.

Call the ticket office today, your club is relying on you!"

Well said Bobby, lets raise the roof on Saturday, if you haven`t got your ticket yet then nip down to the stadium, or phone the ticket hotline 0871 663355, or buy on line at www.wiganathletic.com/tickets, just make sure that you get there on Saturday, your club definitely needs you

Excellent move by the club. I'm hoping for a professional display 2-0 and it never looking like anything else but a home win, but fearing one of those days where the performance goes awol
