Wigan Athletic face their biggest game of the season so far when they take on Birmingham City at the DW Stadium tomorrow, three points are a must if a seventh consecutive Premier League season is to be attained.
One thing for sure, the Latics players have certainly been making rallying calls, their messages in the press this week have been very encouraging as they all talk about battling their way out of trouble.
Momo Diame: "It`s the biggest game of the season by a mile, three crucial points will be up for grabs, and we need to get them if we are to stay up. It is a must-win game. There`s no other way to put it.
"We need to ignore everything else that is going on and concentrate on what we are doing, and these are three points we desperately need."
"We`re all very positive about what`s coming up and we`re confident we can get enough points to stay up."
Ali Al-Habsi: 'The fans have been great with me ever since I arrived and I owe them a thousand 'thank yous' for the way they supported me after the goal at Man City.
'The home games against Birmingham City, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and West Ham will really shape our season.
'Those four games will be huge - and we all need to pull together and continue to give 100%.
'Everything is still in our hands and we need the supporters to stay with us and keep encouraging us.'
Tom Cleverley: 'We know the position we're in and we're ready to battle our way out of it.
'When you look at the run-in there are winnable games there for us, certainly other teams around us have got tougher fixtures to come.
'As long as we treat each game the same and play to the best of our ability we'll get the points we need.'
Charles N`Zogbia: "It will be a massive game on Saturday, and it`s vital we come away with the win.
"We have nine games left, nine cup finals, and we have to go into them thinking we can win them all."
Club skipper Gary Caldwell: 'Everyone has to come out fighting with us, because there are going to be nervous times ahead and sticky moments when we'll need the fans to help us through.
'As a club; players, fans and staff alike we all have to stick together during a difficult period.
'Nobody wants to be where we are but if we support one another we'll enjoy the good times together at the end of the season.'
With the right determination the squad has enough quality to get out of the bottom three, all they need now in the final nine games of the season is the right application and a bit of luck, starting tomorrow against Birmingham.
Let`s get behind them, we are Wigan Athletic.![]()
