Mixed Fortunes In Internationals

Mixed Fortunes In Internationals

Mixed fortunes for Wigan Athletic players in the first bout of this weeks internationals

Maynor Figueroa and Hendry Thomas played for Honduras last night as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to South Korea in Seoul, with the Koreans strolling to victory.

First half goals from Lee Jung-Soo and Kim Jung-Woo were added to by Park Chu-Young and Lee Keun-Ho in the second half.

The Catrachos now need to pick themselves up before they head to Beijing to face China on Tuesday.

It was a different story on Thursday when Tom Cleverley helped the England under 21 side to a comfortable 4-0 win away in Denmark, the Danes had no answer to the powerful England side.

Goals from Danny Welbeck, Scott Sinclair, Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson saw Stuart Pearce`s side cruise to victory.

Cleverley played 79 minutes and was prominent throughout, he also picked up a yellow card for blocking a cross with his hand.
