Thousands of young Latics fans will be getting a phone call of a very different nature this week - from none other than star defender Emmerson Boyce!
Boycey will be spreading a bit of Barbadian sunshine into the lives of all young Wigan Athletic fans, when he tries and persuades them to take up a fantastic offer for the crucial final three home games of this season`s Barclays Premier League Campaign, starting with Saturday`s visit of Champions League Quarter Finalists Tottenham Hotspur.
All Under 16 tickets cost just £5.00 with Under 5s going free with full paying adults.
Using a relay phone system, thousands of supporters will be getting the special recorded message from Emmerson Boyce himself!
Boyce is currently 3rd on Latics` list of Premier League appearances with 123 and he says the club means so much to him.
"This is my fifth season at Latics," he says, "the club has played a massive part in my career, and I know it means everything for us to be in the Premier League. We need to stay focused on what we have to do on the field for the rest of the season, but if that means picking up the phone as well, then that`s ok too!
"I was a bit worried at first when the club asked me to make thousands of phone calls, but joking aside, this is great and I`m delighted to be able to play my part.
"If a few minutes of my time helps to get loads more people in the stadium, then of course I`m happy to do it. Our fans have been brilliant this season and the atmosphere at the DW is always great.
"The young fans are the future of the club, and I know that we give them a really good experience when they come to the DW. This is a chance for families, football clubs, whoever, to all come and get behind the players, and it makes such a difference to us the players."
Supporters can ring the ticket office on 0871 66 33 552 or buy online at wiganathletic.com/tickets
The offer also stands when Latics entertain Everton on April 30th, and for the final home game of the season against West Ham United on Sunday May 14th.
