Vote For Your Latics Player of The Month - March

Wigan Athletic played just two games in March, the 1-0 defeat away at Manchester City and the 2-1 home win over Birmingham City.

In both games the Latics were the dominant team, there were some very good performances from the players with Emmerson Boyce, James McCarthy, Victor Moses, Tom Cleverley and Ben Watson playing very well in either one or both fixtures

There were goals from Cleverley and Maynor Figueroa, the introduction to the Latics fans of new signing Conor Sammon and strong defensive displays from centre back pairing Gary Caldwell and Antolin Alcaraz.

The stand-out player for me over the month has been Ben Watson, he`s been playing the anchor role in midfield, his passing has been excellent and he has had an energy about him that I hadn`t noticed before, busy and wanting the ball for the full 90 minutes, his pass that sent Boyce away to set up Tom Cleverley`s goal against Brum was sublime and if that had been made by Xavi or Iniesta we`d still be seeing replays yet.

So Watson for me but do you agree? To have your say access the poll on the right side of this page, select your option and then hit the submit button, it`s that easy.

Unsung Ben Watson, coming into form at the right time

I think watson has been useless this season............................................. until the last 4 or 5 games where he has come on leaps and bounds. However, someone needs to take the ball off him at corners or free kicks!!

I think for effort he has been the best player all season. He just doesn't get the same opportunities to shine like N'Zogbia and Cleverley etc. but gives them the time and space to do what they do best.
