Wigan Athletic entertain Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at the DW Stadium in what is a very important game for both clubs, the Latics fighting for the points in order to avoid the dreaded drop, whilst Spurs are challenging once more for a top four finish to the season and the reward of a Champions League spot for the next campaign.
Both clubs preparations for the game have been disrupted with the international break, plus Spurs also have the distraction of a Champions League quarter-final game against Real Madrid coming up on Tuesday at the Bernabeu Stadium.
Following todays training sessions both managers, Latics Roberto Martinez and Spurs Harry Redknapp, have spoken to the media, let`s take a look at what they`ve had to say:
Latics boss Roberto Martinez:
'Regardless of their Champions League involvement next week this will be a very difficult game.
'Sometimes having fixtures like that on the horizon can work as an advantage and teams may look at the games beforehand as the ideal chance to gear themselves up and tune their performance.
'But from now until the end of the season it is all about us, our performances on the pitch and being to take every game as a unique opportunity to collect points.
'We're facing one of the best teams in Europe, together with Schalke Tottenham have been the surprise package in this season's Champions League and in the manner they've reached the Quarter Final they've arguably been the competition's best team.
'As a player when you're on the pitch you focus on what is required in certain situations so I don't think Real Madrid will be on Harry Redknapp's team's minds once the game has kicked off.
'90 minutes is a long time and Spurs' players are used to these situations now and will be able to perform in the manner they've been used to all season.'
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp:
'We can't come out and start working on how we're going to play Real Madrid because we've got to play Wigan on Saturday'
'Wigan is a massive game for us.
'They had a good result in their last game when they beat Birmingham and I've great respect for their manager (Roberto Martinez), I think he's fantastic.
'But we've got to go there and try to make sure we get a win.
'We can't think about Real Madrid until we've played Wigan.'
So both agree it will be a tough game, here`s hoping that it will finish with a positive result for the Latics
