Conor Sammon Just Lovin' It

Wigan Athletic striker Conor Sammon says that he is loving every minute of his time at the Latics and that the fans have been brilliant towards him.

Sammon has made just three substitute appearances since his January move south from Kilmarnock as he is eased gently into the life of a Premier League striker, but those three appearances have come in the last three games and the big striker is certainly capturing the imagination of the supporters.

There is a noticeable raise in the volume of atmosphere when the 24 year old takes to the field, the fans have given him a rousing reception in the last two home games against Birmingham and Spurs, and Sammon has responded by giving the fans something to whet their appetite with.

The Republic of Ireland under 21 international went close to snatching the three points for the Latics on Saturday, right at the death of the game he was slipped in by Tom Cleverley, although surrounded by three defenders Sammon managed to get his shot away, but Gomes in the Spurs goal made a good save with his legs and it wasn`t to be.

The bustling forward undoubtedly plays with his heart on his sleeve and his honest endeavour looks likely to make him a firm favourite with the fans.

Speaking to Graham Lovett on Latics Player the former Kilmarnock hit man said: "I go onto the park and give it 100% every week

"I have every confidence in my own ability that I can cause defences problems, and that I can help the team and my team mates as well by creating chances for them"

"I`m loving every second of it, the fans have been brilliant with me"

This lad will become a Latics star

I hope so Baz. I have willed every Striker we have had to score goals for us, but though the lad may not have the greatest of skills, he will get in good goal scoring positions, and hopefully start to acquire a nack for getting the ball past Premiership keepers, other than route one. One he adds finesse to his game, I think he'll be great.
