Maynor Figueroa Misses Next Two Games

Wigan Athletic left back Maynor Figueroa will miss the next two Premier League games after picking up his tenth booking of the season in yesterdays clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Figueroa was cautioned for what looked a very tame challenge on Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, who went down like a sack of spuds under the merest of touches.

The booking means that the Honduras international will miss the trips to Blackpool and Sunderland and comes at a very important stage of the season. Ironically if Figueroa hadn`t been booked yesterday then the he would have been unlikely to have faced any suspensions this season with the amount of yellows before a ban is now increased from 10 to 15, unlucky.

One of Steve Gohouri, Ronnie Stam or Adrian Lopez will be the favourites to step in for the next two games.

No, wigginer. I rate Stam, Lopez and Gohouri, though.

just when figgy was in form

Gohouri is on 9 yellows, but it doesnt matter if he picks up another, its 15 now before a ban comes in to play
worbo
No loss, he has come back into form of late but he still drifts off far too frequently for my liking
