'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Should Malouda's Goal Have Been Ruled Out?

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is still smarting over the Florent Malouda goal that cost the Latics a share of the spoils in Saturdays tussle against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Martinez claimed that it was 'a crime against football` not to award a free kick to the Latics rather than a goal to Chelsea following a blatant foul in the build up to the goal.

Match referee Howard Webb had a clear view when Chelsea forward Fernando Torres challenged Latics keeper Ali Al-Habsi as the ball was crossed into the box, the Spain international clearly put his elbow into Al-Habsi`s jaw and his forearm across the keepers face.

Although the assistant flagged, Webb allowed play to continue and the ball dropped to Malouda who poked home. An aggrieved Martinez said 'I am very frustrated, it was a clear foul, Torres put his elbow in Ali`s face and once again a big decision goes against us`

I can;t understand why the press haven't honed in on this.

Cos it's bloody wigan and not a fashionable club. We're in the boring stages now. Long way before we become establishment....or until we start scoring, when the world will wake up.

Graham Poll metnions it on his article in the mail saying it's the only thing refs got wrong this weekend. Funny no sports journo's have mentioned it.

theres another pic where webb is about 10 years away looking straight at it and still didnt give it how many more game changing decisions can go against us this season?????
