Ali Al-Habsi - Latics Man of the Match v Chelsea

Ali Al-Habsi - Latics Man of the Match v Chelsea

Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi has been voted the man of the match for his display at Stamford Bridge last Saturday in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Ali had another good game for the Latics, he conceded the only goal of the game following a forearm smash to the face by Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, who committed one of the most blatant fouls of the weekend. Unfortunately for Ali and the Latics match referee Howard Webb was standing 2 yards away so obviously couldn`t see the infringement.

Should have gone to Specsavers Webb, or at least took note of your assistant who was flagging for the foul.

Not that I`m bitter, anyway a good game from Ali like I say, some great saves and a strong performance, deservedly man of the match.

For the record the voting was:

Ali Al-Habsi - 68%
Antolin Alcaraz - 6%
James McCarthy - 6%

The new poll is now available for you to vote in and it is situated on the right side of this page, to participate simply access the poll, select your preferred option and then hit the submit button, it`s that easy.
