Let's Make Blackpool Rock

Let's Make Blackpool Rock

Saturday is a massive, massive day in the season for Wigan Athletic, bottom of the Premier League but still full of confidence, hope and belief, unlike one or two clubs around us.

We are going into Saturdays game against Blackpool as though it`s a cup final, the club have sold out their allocation of tickets and the buzz that is going around suggests that the fans are starting to rock in anticipation.

The message boards on the fans sites are charging up for what will be a fantastic away trip, right here on Vital Latics one of our members, pienpeys, has encapsulated the mood with some truly inspiring posts so far this week, below, to try and get you, the reader in the mood, is a selection of those posts, over to pienpeys:

I'm absolutely buzzing for Saturday, I can't stop thinking about it.

Just to see us out the bottom 3 and listen to the media talk about us leaving the bottom 3 is just so exciting.

Love to see Lineker revealing the table Saturday night and listening to the pathetic excuses why they got their predictions wrong again.

Biggest Game

This weekend will be our biggest game since Sheffield Utd, so can we increase feelings and hope on here?

For the next three days, let's fill this site to show how proud we are of Wigan Athletic and remember, during our first season we were 'a breath of fresh air' and everyone was praising us, just like they are for Blackpool now.

Let's fill the site with memories of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, City, League Cup Final, our chanting, filling the stadium and in general anything to make the hairs on the back of the neck stand up.

Three days of complete positivity and delight to prepare for Saturday.

COME ON WIGAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What`s Gone is Gone

The best manager in the league, the best players in the league and the best fans in the league for the remainder of the season.

What's gone is gone, we can start a fresh now and concentrate on support and survival.
I hope for the remainder of the season no players past performances are concerns, it's the run in so we must give all to support the team.

A nice rendition of 'Roberto Martinez' by the fans at Blackpool will be good as well, the past counts for nothing.

We can survive with out remaining games, so lets try as hard as we want the players to try.

Support From Start to Finish, No Matter What

I'm doing everything I can to ensure that when 3PM comes on Saturday, my only concern is to support the team with all my heart.

Unlike other games, the team sheet or formation will not be a concern of mine no matter if we play the reserves. All I am going to do is support Wigan Athletic from start until finish even if it meant doing it on my own, which I know it won't.

Everyone knows what can happen, there isn't anyone on here who doesn't know what the ending can be. But surely we have to do everything to help.

Go onto Bloomfield Road full of fear and nerves, it will transfer to the players. But if we go into the game giving our upmost support and concern only for our club, the players will become less nervous and start to play how we want them to.

Cheering every pass during a good passing move, cheering when we make a tackle, giving everything to support the team and we will stay up.

The Wigan Athletic fans when we had attendances of 1200 managed to give their all, so for us not to would be an insult to the clubs past.

'WIGAN WIGAN WIGAN WIGAN WIGAN....................'

Sing 'til The End

Just sing and chant until 4.45 on Saturday and look at the score then, if Blackpool score we mustn't let it dampen our spirits. If we go behind, we have to sing louder and louder.
Sore throat on Sunday morning, but if were victorious it will have been worth it.

You Are My Sunshine

Our theme tune hasn't been sung with true enthusiasm for a while has it? So, I'll start and you can only join in at 3.15pm on Saturday...

'You Are My Sunshine,
My Only Sunshine,
You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Grey,
You'll Never Know Dear, How Much I Love You,
So Please Don`t Take My Sunshine Away.

Many thanks to pienpeys for his words of inspiration, like he says ALL TOGETHER NOW...
